Growing stronger together through volunteering, outreach, and more
We promise our personal injury clients that we will treat them the same way we would want our family to be treated. But that promise doesn’t stop at the office doors. Engaging with our neighbors through volunteer work is an extension of that promise into the real world.
One of our core missions is to help those in need, however we can. Over the years we’ve been able to give back to the community that has given us so much by participating in volunteer projects and outreach programs across Indianapolis. We’re proud of the relationships we’ve fostered with those dedicated to giving back.

Every year kids go to school without the supplies they need to be successful. 1 in 3 Indiana families can’t afford the basics of housing, food, and transportation, despite working hard. We want to give every kid the best chance of success. We’re partnering with IPS to provide Indianapolis students with quality backpacks filled with essential school supplies.
In 2021, we were able to give away over 10,000 backpacks to students in need at the IPS Back to School festival in August and in partnership with School 90.
We are excited to announce the #HensleyCares newest community giving initiative: Hensley4Teachers.
The teacher who gets nominated for the month will receive a $500 from Hensley Legal Group to use however they please and will be featured on our digital billboard!
A selected panel from Hensley Legal Group will be reviewing submissions to select a teacher every month.
Pet adoption is an issue near and dear to our hearts here at HLG. Our rescued pets are part of our families and have changed our lives for the better.
To aid pet adoption in our own community, we’re partnering with Indy Humane on a campaign called Fur-Ever Friends. We’ll cover the adoption fees of each featured pet, so they can find their forever home. Every Friday, a new Fur-Ever Friend is featured on our website and social media. We share their stories and celebrate with them when they find their fur-ever homes!
Since the start of his personal injury legal career, John Hensley has been involved in giving back to the community. He believes we should always lend a helping hand to a person in need.
In 2021, he identified education as a key pillar of the firm’s community focus. Many of our initiatives focus on education, but we know there are a lot of individuals and groups doing impactful work to serve the Indiana community. That’s why we’ve opened this opportunity for people or groups to apply for small microgrants to serve the community at-large. We have an internal voting committee that votes on these grants each year and awards the money.

At Hensley Legal Group, giving is something we think about all year. We are a company full of community minded individuals coming together to serve our clients daily. When we aren’t at the office, we love to serve our community.
We know that budgets can get tight especially around the holidays. To help make life a little easier, we fill laundry baskets full of household essentials and shelf stable Thanksgiving feast fixings. We deliver these baskets to families the week before Thanksgiving.
Our Partnership With The Colts
We are diehard Colts fans. We even have Blue Fridays to show off our Colts gear! So when we were given the opportunity to team up with the Colts, we couldn’t imagine a better partnership.
Just like the Indianapolis Colts, we believe in winning the right way. From ticket giveaways and PSAs to fundraisers for Neurohope Wellness, our partnership with the Colts has allowed us to enact real change in our community.
