Pedestrian Killed in Morgan County Collision

A female pedestrian was killed early Saturday morning in a Morgan County collision in Jackson Township, IN.

Pedestrian Not Yet Identified 

The fatal Morgan County collision took place near State Road 252 and Whetstine Road at around 4:30 a.m. on September 21, 2024.  Deputies from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) were then dispatched to the crash site, where they found an unresponsive woman lying in a ditch whom they later pronounced dead.

The woman did not have any form of identification on her and has not yet been identified.  The MCSO described her as a white female in her late 20 or early 30s, with hair cut close on the sides and long on top, a star tattoo behind her right ear, and a lion tattoo on her left forearm.  She was also wearing black clothing at the time of the accident.

Morgan County Collision Under Investigation

The driver who allegedly struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene of the Morgan County collision and has been cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

During a preliminary examination, the responding deputies reportedly ascertained that the woman had been walking two feet away from the westbound lane of State Road 252 when the westbound driver struck her.

The MCSO currently believes that the driver did not see the pedestrian prior to hitting her, and neither speed nor impairment are thought to have contributed to the crash.
