At least five have been injured in a Tuesday evening Greensburg restaurant crash that remains under investigation.

Two Pinned Beneath Honda

The incident took place at Carriage On The Square Smokehouse, a barbeque restaurant located at 117 North Broadway Street in Greensburg, IN. At approximately 6:23 p.m. on October 8, 2024, multiple patrons were eating outside of the establishment when a grey Honda passenger vehicle reportedly hopped the curb, collided with them, and crashed into the restaurant’s front end.

Officers from the Greensburg Police Department (GPD) were then called to the scene, where they found two “critically injured” people pinned beneath the Honda. A responding officer applied a tourniquet to one of them after both were extricated.

Exact Cause of Greensburg Restaurant Crash Unknown

A total of seven individuals were medically evaluated at the site of the Greensburg restaurant crash, including the Honda’s 83-year-old female driver, who has since been identified as a former Indiana State Representative who served District 67 from 1994 until 2010.

Two victims were subsequently airlifted to the University of Cincinnati Hospital in critical condition, while two were transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Police said that three others who were also present refused immediate medical attention.

Carriage On The Square Smokehouse is expected to be closed for the rest of the week. The GPD has not yet provided any information about the exact cause of the Greensburg restaurant crash, which is currently being investigated with assistance from the Indiana State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
