Grant County Truck Accident on I-69 Kills Ohio Man

An Ohio man has been killed in a Grant County truck accident that took place on I-69 about an hour southwest of Fort Wayne, IN.

SUV Rear-Ended in Grant County Truck Accident

The fatal Grant County truck accident occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. on October 10, 2024, when an 81-year-old male resident of Hicksville, OH was driving a 2021 Ford Explorer SUV northbound on I-69, about six miles north of the State Road 18 interchange for Marion and Montpelier.  At that time, a 25-year-old Greenwood man who was also traveling northbound on I-69 allegedly drove a 2020 Volvo semi-trailer into the rear of the SUV.

The Indiana State Police, Grant County authorities, and responders from the Town of Van Buren were subsequently called to the scene of the crash, where they discovered that the SUV’s driver had died but the semi-trailer’s driver had suffered no apparent injuries.

No arrests or citations have yet been reported, and police say that neither alcoholic beverages nor narcotics were suspected of contributing to the Grant County truck accident.
