Gibson County Truck Accident Injures Two

At least two people have been seriously injured in a midday Gibson County truck accident in southeastern Indiana.

Load Shift Linked to Gibson County Truck Accident

The Gibson County truck accident took place on State Road 64 near County Road 750 E at approximately 11:10 a.m. on October 18, 2024.  According to Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven, a pickup truck was heading east on State Road 64 at that location, pulling a front-end loader on a flatbed directly behind it, when its load “shifted.”  The force of the shifting load then allegedly caused the truck to veer into the westbound lane of traffic, where it collided with a car heading in the opposite direction.

The driver of the car that was struck later had to be pulled from the wreckage.  Both the driver and a passenger were subsequently transported from the scene of the Gibson County truck accident to an area hospital, where they are being treated for what have been characterized as serious injuries.
