Elkhart Construction Accident Kills Worker

One worker has been killed in an Elkhart construction accident that occurred over the weekend, according to authorities.

Fatally Struck by Driver in Elkhart Construction Accident

The tragic incident took place at the site of the Sunnyside Overpass project in Elkhart, IN.  At some point on January 18, 2025, a construction worker was directing a pipe into a driver when for some as yet unknown reason the driver became disconnected and fatally struck him.

The Elkhart County Coroner’s Office later determined that the construction worker, a 31-year-old man who was reportedly from LaPorte, IN, had died as a result of “multiple blunt force trauma injuries” he sustained in the Elkhart construction accident.  His death has been ruled accidental.

No further information about the Elkhart construction accident was immediately available.
