Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Fort Wayne Car Accident

One driver has been killed and another has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle Fort Wayne car accident just east of downtown.

Two-Vehicle Fort Wayne Car Accident Under Investigation

The fatal two-vehicle Fort Wayne car accident took place at or near the intersection of Maumee Avenue and Grant Avenue at approximately 4:13 p.m. on September 22, 2024.  Officers from the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the scene shortly after the collision, where they discovered a male driver pinned inside of a Dodge Charger.  The man was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A second male driver, who was found lying on the ground outside of his Hyundai Elantra, was also taken to a local hospital in what was characterized as a “life-threatening condition.”

No further details have been released about what led up to the two-vehicle Fort Wayne car accident, which remains under investigation at this time.  However, early indications suggest that speed may have been a factor in the crash.
