Daviess County Truck Accident Kills Motorcyclist

A motorcyclist has been killed and at least one other individual has been injured in an early morning Daviess County truck accident.

Truck Driver Allegedly Disregarded Stop Sign

The fatal Daviess County truck accident took place at or near the intersection of CR 600 N and CR 100 W (Edwardsport Rd.) shortly after 10:00 a.m. on August 18, 2024.  At that time, a semi-trailer was traveling westbound on CR 600 N, approaching its intersection with CR 100 W, which was guarded by a stop sign.  The truck driver then allegedly disregarded the stop sign, proceeded into the intersection, and pulled the semi-trailer directly into the path of a motorcyclist traveling southbound on CR 100 W, resulting in a violent collision.

According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the motorcyclist, a 70-year-old man from Washington, IN, was transported by emergency responders to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the Daviess County truck accident.  The truck driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Daviess County Truck Accident Under Investigation

The Daviess County truck accident is under investigation by the Indiana State Police, who reported to the scene of the incident to reconstruct the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the Sheriff’s Office has stated that the cause of the Daviess County truck accident is currently unknown.
