The Strength to Make a Difference

We promise our clients that we will treat them the same way we would want our family to be treated. But that promise doesn’t stop at the office doors. Engaging with our neighbors through volunteer work is an extension of that promise into the real world.

One of our core missions is to help those in need, however we can. Over the years we’ve been able to give back to the community that has given us so much by participating in volunteer projects and outreach programs across Indianapolis. We’re proud of the relationships we’ve fostered with those dedicated to giving back.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to meet the needs of our community, however we can. Keep reading to see our current projects and partnerships.

Backpacks 4 Good

Every year kids go to school without the supplies they need to be successful. 1 in 3 Indiana families can’t afford the basics of housing, food, and transportation, despite working hard. We want to give every kid the best chance of success. We’re partnering with IPS to provide Indianapolis students with quality backpacks filled with essential school supplies.

In 2021, we were able to give away over 10,000 backpacks to students in need at the IPS Back to School festival in August and in partnership with School 90.

Indianapolis Colts Partnership

We are diehard Colts fans. We even have Blue Fridays to show off our Colts gear! So when we were given the opportunity to team up with the Colts, we couldn’t imagine a better partnership.

Just like the Indianapolis Colts, we believe in winning the right way. From ticket giveaways and PSAs to fundraisers for Neurohope Wellness, our partnership with the Colts has allowed us to enact real change in our community.

Fur-Ever Friends

Pet adoption is an issue near and dear to our hearts here at HLG. Our rescued pets are part of our families and have changed our lives for the better.

To aid pet adoption in our own community, we’re partnering with Indy Humane on a campaign called Fur-Ever Friends. We’ll cover the adoption fees of each featured pet, so they can find their forever home. Every Friday, a new Fur-Ever Friend is featured on our website and social media. We share their stories and celebrate with them when they find their fur-ever homes!

Neurohope Wellness

Neurohope Wellness is a not-for-profit physical rehabilitation facility that provides physical therapy for victims of stroke, spinal cord and brain injuries. Founder Chris Leuew started Neurohope after a debilitating spinal injury revealed a need for affordable physical therapy in Indiana. You can hear his incredible story on their website.

We have been proud partners with Neurohope since 2017. For every Indianapolis Colts win, we donate $1,000 to Neurohope and also partner with them for special events, like their annual Swing “Fore” Hope golf scramble fundraiser.

Foster Fairies

The holidays can be hard for kids in foster care. For the past few years we’ve partnered with Foster Fairies, an organization that provides holiday and birthday gifts to children in Marion County who are victims of abuse and neglect.

During our Foster Fairies present drive in December, every HLG employee purchases and wraps presents for a sponsored child. Then we load up a truck and deliver the gifts to Foster Fairies, where they make sure the deserving kids get their presents for Christmas!

Dedicated to Having Fun

Who said that making a difference had to be boring? We love bringing people together and sharing fun opportunities with our neighbors. We put on various events, contests, and sweepstakes throughout the year to put a little bit of fun back into the world.

Two Decades in the Community

When we see a need in our community, we try to meet it. We’ve been able to participate in these past volunteer and outreach events and looking forward to many more.
