Michigan City Gas Station Fire Engulfs Multiple Trucks

A Michigan City gas station fire that engulfed multiple trucks on early Sunday morning remains under investigation. 

Few Details Released About Michigan City Gas Station Fire

Deputies from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene of the Michigan City gas station fire right before 2:00 a.m. on November 24, 2024.  Upon their arrival at the Gallops Gas Station and Truck Stop, which is located at the intersection of U.S. 20 and State Road 39 in Michigan City, IN, the deputies found three semi-tractor-trailers “fully engulfed by flames.” 

A total of six trucks ultimately caught fire before the blaze was extinguished, and four of the vehicles were reportedly destroyed completely. 

The department is currently investigating the incident in conjunction with the Indiana State Fire Marshals Office.  However, few details have been released about the Michigan City gas station fire thus far, including information about its origin or whether anybody was hurt in it.
