Biography

Olivia Rathburn grew up in a small farm town in Michigan called White Pigeon, with a graduating class of about 45 kids. She moved with her family to Zionsville, IN during her junior year of high school and when on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Ball State University in Muncie with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.  After taking a gap year teaching preschool, she attended Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, where she earned her JD in May 2025. 

A second-generation law student, Olivia likes to say that this was actually her second time going to law school, since as a child she would accompany her mother to classes when she was studying law. Olivia’s father is also an attorney and was the one who encouraged them both to enter the profession he loved so much and believed they would love too. 

In fact, while waiting for her bar results, Olivia handled intake calls at her father’s criminal defense firm, an experience that helped her build rapport with clients and taught her that empathy is a powerful tool for a lawyer to have. Those outside of the legal profession may not always understand what is happening, and she believes it is important for an attorney to help clients navigate a new world that so many find scary. 

Olivia is excited about working at Hensley Legal Group because the firm offers the chance to make a difference for all kinds of people. Since personal injury is an area of law where resources do not limit a client’s ability to receive representation, literally anyone’s life can be changed for the better. 

Olivia currently lives in Indianapolis with her pets Hero (dog), Honey (dog), and Henry (cat who thinks he is a dog). She enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling whenever a cheap flight presents itself.
