WSBT Partnering with Hensley for First South Bend Backpacks 4 Good

WSBT 22 recently announced that the station is partnering with Hensley Legal Group and the South Bend Cubs to help put on the first Backpacks 4 Good event ever in South Bend, IN.

Backpacks 4 Good is an annual initiative that provides backpacks and essential school supplies to Indiana students in need.  More than 53,000 fully stocked backpacks have been distributed throughout the Hoosier State since the program launched in 2021.  Another 10,000 will be handed out this summer at four separate drive-thru giveaways that are open to the public, including South Bend’s inugural Backpacks 4 Good.

Each backpack is available completely free of charge and contains:

• Two pocket folders
• Classic no. 2 pencils
• Pencil sharpener
• Pencil pouch
• Crayons
• Glue stick
• 5″ scissors
• Water bottle

The South Bend Backpacks 4 Good drive-thru will be held on:

Friday, Aug. 7, 2026
10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

South Bend, IN  46601

While drop-ins are certainly welcome, demand is expected to be heavy, so anyone who is interested in attending is encouraged to preregister here.
