Hensley Legal Group would like to thank WSBT 22 for pitching in at this year’s Backpacks 4 Good event in South Bend, IN.

WSBT’s own Pete Byrne and Cari Peugeot joined the team at HLG as well as Stu and Ivy from the South Bend Cubs in handing out over 1,200 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to local families in need at Four Winds Field on Friday, Aug. 7.

Each backpack was available completely free of change and contained such items as:

Two pocket folders
Classic no. 2 pencils
Pencil sharpener
Pencil pouch
Crayons
Glue stick
5″ scissors
Water bottle

In all, Backpacks 4 Good has distributed more than 10,000 fully stocked backpacks to Indiana students this year and more than 63,000 since the program first launched in 2021.
