Emergency personnel from the Hammond Police Department, the Indiana Harbor Belt Police, and Hammond EMA were then called to the scene of the Hammond train accident, where the pedestrian was pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m. from “multiple blunt force injuries” he sustained in the collision.
