Biography

Claudio Perez is a Nicaraguan-American who was born and raised in Miami, Florida, but became an Indiana resident in 2010 when he moved to South Bend to attend Notre Dame University. While at Notre Dame completing his master’s degree in theology, Claudio also worked with at-risk youth through the organization Reading for Life and engaged in community service in various capacities in South Bend. Claudio has always felt compelled to make a difference and assist people during times of distress.

After graduating from Notre Dame, Claudio moved to Bloomington, Indiana where he married his wife, Kathleen. He worked various jobs while in Bloomington including case manager at the Department of Child Services and investigator at Adult Protective Services. Claudio began law school at the IU Mauer School of Law in 2017. In 2020, Claudio graduated from Maurer, moved to Indianapolis, and began his law career as a public defender in Marion County. Claudio assisted indigent parents facing cases with the Department of Child Services for almost four years.

In 2024, Claudio proudly joined the Hensley Legal Group where he concentrates on bringing justice to personal injury clients, both English and Spanish speaking. He is deeply motivated by his Christian faith and his deeply felt duty to help the less fortunate.

Claudio currently sits on the board of Reach for Youth, a community-based nonprofit that provides mental health services to families and second chances to at-risk youth.

He and his family live in Franklin Township and they enjoy outdoor activities and traveling.
