Man Killed After Parking Lot Truck Accident in Indianapolis

July 8, 2011 – Indianapolis, Ind. – According to a news story from Indystar, a semi-trailer tractor truck backed up into an Indianapolis resident, Robert Kivett, 47, in a business parking lot on the Westside. The accident happened in the early morning hours on Friday, July 1.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Jaime Clemenents, 24, had put a semi-trailer in reverse at 2602 W. Minnesota Street. He stopped the car when he noticed a cell phone on the ground. He stopped the truck and got out to pick it up.

When he went back to get into the vehicle, he saw a person on the ground to the right of the truck. Kivett died from his injuries at the scene of the accident around 12:30 a.m.

An Indiana accident attorney can file a wrongful death claim if a loved one has been injured by somebody else’ negligence. Drivers of trucks and tractor trailers have a higher amount of liability to pedestrians because of the serious potential harm their vehicles may cause.
