Indianapolis Car Crash Injures Pregnant Woman

July 18, 2011 – Indianapolis, Ind – A driver involved in a 3-car accident, off I-65 in Indianapolis that injured a pregnant woman, fled the scene on foot Monday, July 11,WishTV.com has reported.

The accident occurred on 38th Street at about 1:30 a.m. According to witnesses, the driver of a Honda Accord was speeding and swerving when it plowed into a white car. Both cars then collided into a Nissan Sentra, which a pregnant woman had been driving.

The woman’s car sustained damage on the side and front. The Honda exited the roadway, rammed into a light pole and knocked it down. The vehicle then came to rest in a grassy area in which the driver got out and fled the scene.

The woman, who was nearly 8 month’s pregnant and conscious, was transported to Wishard Hospital. Police said she was in serious condition. It was not reported that the driver of the white car suffered serious injuries.
