Driver Killed After Car Hits I-70 Guard Rail, Flips

November 3, 2010 – Plainfield, IN – Police were called to the scene of a single-car crash along I-70 on the morning of November 2 that left one woman dead.

According to WTHR Channel 13 News, police identified the victim as Janice R. Goldman, 48, of Ingals. Police say Goldman’s car flipped just before 2 a.m. as she was driving west on I-70 near the Indianapolis International Airport.

Goldman was traveling at high speeds on an exit ramp when her Ford Mustang struck a guard rail, which caused it to flip and skid approximately 100 yards along the pavement. There were no other cars involved.

According to police, there are many accidents along this particular stretch of I-70.

“For some reason this interchange right here specifically has been the scene of several accidents since this part of I-70 was opened,” said Capt. Darel Kreger of the Plainfield Police Department.

Law enforcement official restricted traffic while emergency crews cleared the scene. All lanes were reopened shortly afterward.
