April 7, 2011 – Montgomery County, Indiana – According to a report from Wish TV 8, a 2 car crash killed 1 woman and injured another in Montgomery County.
Debra Barrett, 53, of Ladoga, was driving her 1991 Chevrolet car when it went across the center lane on State Road 234 and Montgomery County Road 350 East.
Barrett struck a 2005 Chevrolet van being driven by Zona Phelps, 65, of Lebanon. Chief Deputy Coroner Darren Foreman responded to the fatal car accident where Barrett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Phelps had to be freed from her vehicle where she was trapped and was then taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was then flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Phelps’ condition is unknown at this time.
The fatal car accident was still under investigation at the time of this posting.
